Youth Hostels in Paris

Paris, one of the most traveled cities in the world, why should you miss out? It is possible to do Paris on a budget and still have fun--just plan accordingly. There are lots of cheap hotels and youth hostels so accommodation should not be a problem. And with Paris’ public transportation as strong as it is, getting to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the wonderful parks should not be a problem. Though breakfast is probably not included with your cheap hotel or youth hostel, do as the Parisians do and grab a coffee and croissant at a local cafe at the bar rather than outside. Stay away from eating at tourist areas but certainly do indulge in French food. It will be an experience and can be cheap. Stick to ‘Formule’ menus which are set menus with about 3 courses for a very good price. And Paris fast food is different from the norm, try a hot dog in a baguette with melted cheese and mustard. The supermarkets are also very good so prepare your picnic, bring a corkscrew and some wine glasses and enjoy some people watching in a park--a perfect budget afternoon. November through April is the cheapest time to go and the city has the fewest amount of people so more vacation time is spent vacationing rather then in line. Clubs can be expensive on the weekends but do take in some jazz, it is available all over Paris and enjoyable even if jazz is not your forte. Check the newspapers for listings of concerts and other events; church concerts can be significantly cheaper then concerts hall concerts of the same great quality. And when you want to get a way from it all, go for a hike--cheap, beautiful, and exhilarating. Paris hostels provide you with a good selection of the cheapest accommodation available. Be it just a bed in a dormitory, a double room or a single room with shared bathroom and facilities. And some hostels have a few rooms with private bathroom.
